RYOTA MISHIMA三島良太

Born in Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan. While experimenting with imaginary expressions using 3DCG, he is also exploring works that take sculptural form.
His work begins with objects that exist in countless numbers in everyday life yet are hardly ever given a second thought. From the perspective that an object is not merely a functional thing but a presence that emerges from accumulated time, memory and relationships, he explores the structures of meaning hidden behind it. By visualizing what allows matter to become a “presence” and the invisible aura that arises from it, he continues a practice that questions how we perceive the world and give it meaning.
